How does billing work?
Restwell services may be billed through Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or contracted community agreements depending on the service provided. Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) services are Medicare-eligible when criteria are met. Residents or families may see applicable charges on insurance explanations of benefits.
Is resident consent required?
Yes. Informed consent is required for telehealth services and Remote Patient Monitoring. Consent may be written or verbal (when appropriate) and is documented in the medical record. Consent is typically required once annually unless services change.
What happens in an emergency?
Restwell telehealth is not a replacement for emergency services. If a resident experiences a medical emergency, community staff are instructed to call 911 immediately. Restwell clinicians will document and coordinate follow-up care as appropriate.
Will this replace my loved one’s doctor?
No. Residents keep their primary care physicians. Restwell provides additional clinical monitoring, assessments, and recommendations to support—not replace—existing medical care.
Is monitoring intrusive?
No. Remote Patient Monitoring uses discreet, passive sensors—no cameras, microphones, or wearable devices—to monitor trends such as activity, sleep, and respiration.
